Crazee Burger – North Park

While antiquing in San Diego, we decided to find a beer and burger joint nearby. It was a Sunday, downtown and midtown had a lot of traffic, and little in the way of parking. However, we did manage to find Crazee Burger on 30th street which was in North Park, our old old stomping grounds. This is a cute little bistro that serves a wild variety of burgers. Known for it’s exotic burgers like lamb, venison, ostrich, buffalo, salmon and even alligator. I was happily surprised that they had good compliment of micro brews on draft.

Just when we thought we had covered all the beer and burger places in Encinitas, we yet find another one. A little further south down the Pacific Coast HWY 101 and it popped out. The Lumberyard Tavern. Pretty good sized place with lots of seating. It was a nice day and so we opted for the little decked patio they had out front. There are plenty of big screen tv around the place to catch a game on.

North of Temecula you will find Murrieta Hot Springs Road which is also where you will find J Carter’s Tavern Grill. We heard about this place in the local music rags as a place to go see local bands, but it was lunch time and we wanted to check out the food. Inside it is nice and cozy with dark wood furniture and floors.

Excellent place for a beer and burger as the waitress said you really need to be a beer lover to come to this establishment. It is a brewery and the chef uses different types of Karl Strauss beer in many of the  menu items, even in the desserts! We found the new one that just opened in Temecula off the I-15.
