While bumming around Wisconsin Rapids I was hard pressed to find a descent bar and grill that was open on a Friday and serves an IPA on tap. Well, I hit pay dirt when I found Jennings & Co. by 1st street and Jackson Street in the old town part of Wisconsin Rapids.

While antiquing in San Diego, we decided to find a beer and burger joint nearby. It was a Sunday, downtown and midtown had a lot of traffic, and little in the way of parking. However, we did manage to find Crazee Burger on 30th street which was in North Park, our old old stomping grounds. This is a cute little bistro that serves a wild variety of burgers. Known for it’s exotic burgers like lamb, venison, ostrich, buffalo, salmon and even alligator. I was happily surprised that they had good compliment of micro brews on draft.

We found this place going through Wausau Wisconsin right off the 51, which if you are heading north on the I-39 it will eventually become. Exit Stewart Ave and you are there. This one of three locations and oddly enough not one of the locations is in Milwaukee. This is good sized sports bar with 30-40 tap beers and many bottles to choose from. Wisconsin is famous for cheese curds so this place serves them by hand 4 different ways.

Just when we thought we had covered all the beer and burger places in Encinitas, we yet find another one. A little further south down the Pacific Coast HWY 101 and it popped out. The Lumberyard Tavern. Pretty good sized place with lots of seating. It was a nice day and so we opted for the little decked patio they had out front. There are plenty of big screen tv around the place to catch a game on.
