While traveling on the 91, in the infamous Inland Empire, I had to stop in Corona for lunch. Corona is not known for having many choices for a B&B, but we lucked out with an old favorite called Oggi’s Pizza and Brew House. They have a good selection of burgers too! There are many Oggi’s restaurants around southern California and they starting to spread to neighboring states like Arizona. It’s also a great sports bar to enjoy a game.
Oggi’s has it’s own brewery too! They have about nine or so beers, some of which have won some awards. So after seeing the many awards that went to their Torrey Pines IPA, I had to try that one first. There are not many beers that I do not like, however, I found this IPA to be well balanced and very refreshing. Not bitter at all and not too hoppy. I would definitely recommend it. For my second choice, which I order to enjoy with the meal, was the Double Up Double IPA which won a gold medal this year at the California State Fair. I think it was even better than my first choice. Good for you Oggi! Darn good beer.
I decided to get daring for my burger order, so I went with the Matador. I love peppers of all kinds, but I have needed to shy away from them because of acid reflux. Then I discovered that is safe to eat spicy for lunch, just not for dinner. My reasoning with the Matador was that the jalapeños were grilled which I figured would calm them down a bit. I was right! This seasoned angus burger came with provolone cheese, roasted jalapeño peppers, lettuce, tomato, red onion and avocado with spicy Cajun Aioli sauce. Wow! If you want adventure, this is it. My taste buds were delighted, my nasal passages cleared and my stomach was just fine.
