If you’re visiting Huntington Beach, you will want to stop in at the Huntington Beach Beer Company. It is upstairs above Sakal’s Surf Shop and overlooks Main Street. Great for people watching while enjoying the sun and cool ocean breezes. We typically avoid lunch rushes and go out in the middle of the week. We usually get good service and HBBC did a good job. I was feeling adventurous and so ordered the Spicy Blond Onion Burger. It was made of Angus beef, pepper jack cheese, spicy beer braised onions, bacon and spicy mayo on a pretzel bun. Whoa! It was very good. You can also build your own burger there.
They have handcrafted ales and lagers brewed on site. The first beer I ordered was a pint of Brickshot Red. It was smooth and easy to drink. Not remarkable compared to others that I have but I still liked it and would order another except I must try something different for beer number two. Remember this is a journey and you can come along if want to. My second choice was a Black Gold Porter and it was served in a snifter glass. It was a little smokey tasting but not bad. Not sure if I like porters in general.
Your wallet will go farther at Huntington Beach Beer Company than most places. They have a great variety of things on their menu including seafood, italian dishes, pizza, tacos and some veggie dishes as well.
