Again we find ourselves at one our favorite beach towns Encinitas. D Street Bar and grill is only a block from the intersection of Pacific Coast HWY and Encinitas Boulevard. So prepare to look for parking immediately after the turn. This is a very comfortable tavern that has nice large booths by these big open windows. You can watch the street while enjoying the cool ocean breezes. Today I ordered a cheese burger with pepper jack cheese. It came after my first beer right on schedule. They also threw in some chopped up pepperoncinis. Never had a burger like that. I must say it was a nice touch. Very excellent fries. Thick freshly cut and deep fried. They also have cajon fries too. My lunch mate wasn’t real hungary so luckily they also had sliders aka-cart which is the perfect size. More B&Bs should have sliders on their menu.
D Street doesn’t have a large selection of beer but they have a broad spectrum to accommodate anyone’s taste. I choose for my first beer the “30th St. Pale Ale” from the Green Flash Brewery in San Diego. For an ale it is a bit full bodied and also sports a high alcohol percentage. It was smooth with a flavor that had hints of fruit and malt but not over powering at all. For my second beer I choose the Speakeasy “Prohibition Ale” this brewery is in San Francisco. It’s a dark ale but very tasty and smooth to drink. Most anyone would like this one.
Music was fun but widely diverse from Kings of Leon to Creedence Clearwater. Surprisingly the prices are very reasonable here considering where it is located. This is definitely a nice place to bring friends.
