Again we find ourselves in Encinitas California. This time at the Beachside Bar and Grill. It has a very cozy and laid back atmosphere. You can here Grateful Dead playing in the background. The attractive waitresses are very prompt and eager to serve. They have two outdoor patios, a fire pit, live music, and 11 high-definition TVs.
I ordered the Long Border which is a sautéed mushroom and Swiss Angus burger. This is the kind of burger that is bigger than the bun. Also, piled high with caramelized onions which were really sweet tasting. It was awesome!
They have a good selection of beers on tap, 12 in all. They will serve drafts in 14 or 22 ounce glasses. They have ales and laggers, but nothing new that I haven’t tried yet so I went with one of my favorite the Ballast Point Scuplin IPA.
This place has expanded a bit and can accommodate many tourists. The seating is heavy dark wood with windows that are usually open so you can people watch and hear the train go by. I highly recommend this place for a beer and a burger.
